Dan Buckner, now part of the Cardinals’ practice squad, still has hopes of playing in the NFL this year

Arizona’s contingent of former players associated with NFL teams increased to 13 today with the addition of wide receiver Dan Buckner to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.

Buckner, who was cut by Arizona on Aug. 30 after playing with the Cardinals in the preseason, joins fellow teammate Matt Scott as a practice-squad player in the NFL. Scott is with Jacksonville. Fendi Onobun, a former UA hoops player, is part of Chicago’s practice squad as a tight end. For rules about practice-squad players click on this link.

The UA has 10 former players who are part of a team’s 53-man roster. New England tight end Rob Gronkowski (back and forearm) and Oakland receiver Juron Criner (coach’s decision) have been listed as inactive in the first two weeks.

This site will run statistic updates on former Wildcats who are active in the NFL throughout the season. The stats below are through games of Week Two.
