How did Arizona fare in its 31-26 loss to UCLA on Saturday?
— Arizona Wildcats quarterback B.J. Denker threw an interception on his last attempt, only his fourth pick thrown in 267 attempts this season. His interception and Ka’Deem Carey’s fumble at the goal line reduced the UA’s turnover margin to plus-5 this season. The Wildcats are 4-3-2 in the turnover battle this season.
— The Wildcats earned a helmet sticker in three consecutive weeks for producing at least 10 plays of 12 yards or more. They tallied 10 against UCLA.
— For the eighth consecutive game, Arizona managed five drives of at least eight plays against UCLA. The drives resulted in two touchdowns, a field goal, turnover on downs and fumble at the goal line.
— Arizona’s third-down conversion rate continues to be a concern. The UA has achieved at least a 55-percent achievement rate in third- and fourth-down conversions only once against UTSA (7 of 13) in the third week of the season. In the last two weeks against Cal and UCLA, the UA is 9-for-30 in third-down conversions and 1-for-4 on fourth-down conversions (10 for 34 overall, only 29.4 percent).
HELMET STICKER CRITERIA
The Wildcats earn cat claws for the Arizona helmet if they achieve these following marks. This grading system is stringent. The Wildcats must achieve their goal. If it states the UA must achieve “more than” a certain mark, they must pass that mark. This helmet will be updated weekly as the Wildcats attempt to fill the helmet with the cat claws:
