“We won the turnover battle, the fourth quarter, the kicking game, and we dominated the line of scrimmage in the fourth quarter. This was our day. It was time.” — Arizona coach Dick Tomey after his Wildcats upset No. 1 Washington 16-3 in 1992

The Pac-12 Networks will televise this week the Arizona Wildcats’ classic victory over No. 1 Washington in 1992 at Arizona Stadium.

I ranked the game No. 2 among the Top 50 games in the program’s history behind the upset of No. 1 USC and Marcus Allen in 1981.

Anthony Gimino of TucsonCitizen.com covered the game for The Arizona Daily Star. He offered a reprint of his account of the game at his blog.

Adding to the Washington game was the announcing of legendary Keith Jackson along with Bob Griese.

Here is the broadcasting schedule (Tucson times):

TODAY
9 a.m., Pac-12 Football Classics – 1992 Washington at Arizona (Interviews with Arizona players Rob Waldrop, Tony Bouie, Heath Bray, and coach Dick Tomey, in addition to Washington players. The Arizona Daily Star’s Greg Hansen was also interviewed for the special).
10 a.m., Pac-12 Football Classic Encore – Washington at Arizona (game replay with Jackson/Griese announcing).
