Former Arizona basketball player Jerryd Bayless took to his Twitter account this morning in response to the leaked audio tape that includes the potential voice of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling spewing racial comments to his girlfriend.
TMZ reports it obtained audio from a conversation between Sterling and V. Stiviano in which he confronts her about associating with black people in public. He was particularity outspoken about her posting Instagram photos with black friends.
The NBA is investigating the validity of the audiotape before taking action against Sterling.
Bayless, an unrestricted free agent who was with the Boston Celtics this season, Tweeted the following:
Are the Clippers suppose to play their next game?
It's an interesting dilemma to say the least.
I don't think it would be right to penalize the fans and not play knowing they had nothing to do with it.
I also wouldn't put on that jersey with Sterling still as the owner.
Here are some other noted reactions on Twitter:
LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling's comments about African Americans are a black eye for the NBA.
.@cjbycookie and I will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner.
The Clippers are 14 very realistic wins away from Donald Sterling being handed the Larry O'Brien trophy.
