The Ice Bucket Challenge baton has been passed from former Arizona Daily Star sports copy editor Thomas Heleba, who is now with the Washington Post in the same role, to yours truly.
I answered the challenge (see video) and put the onus on three others to do the same. They are my brother Andy Morales of AllSportsTucson.com, Steve Rivera of FoxSports.com and Paul Cicala of the NBC affiliate in Tucson (Channel 4).
In addition to the awareness of ALS, of which the Ice Bucket Challenge was formed, I want to bring attention to the Arizona Cancer Center. My father, Hector A. Morales Jr., passed away from cancer in 2010. I want to thank all of those people who are working hard for a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and cancer.
