The end of the college season brings a conclusion to Wilbur the Wildcat drawings completed by professional artist Michael Hanaoka.

Mike’s fine work brings back memories of when the Tucson Citizen published cartoons of high school mascots competing against each other on Fridays. Wilbur was also shown getting the upper-hand of his opponent’s mascot.

This site has received a favorable response about the drawings, especially after Arizona pulled off one of its 10 victories.

Here’s a picture of Wilbur with my daughter Mackenzie:

Site founder and award-winning sports journalist Javier Morales has published his first e-book, “The Highest Form of Living”, a fiction piece about a young man who overcomes a troubled upbringing without his lost father (a Vietnam War POW) and wayward mother through basketball and hope. His hope is realized through the sport he loves. Basketball enables him to get past his fears. His experience on the court indirectly brings him closer to his parents in a unique, heartfelt way.
