Going through some of my belongings today, I noticed a lot of Arizona memorabilia I have kept.

The “Arizona Basketball 1986 Pac-10 Champions” shirt with the old Arizona saguaro, mountain and sunset logo add to the intrigue.

When the T-shirt was purchased I was only 18 years old. That seems like a lifetime ago.

The upcoming 2015-16 season marks the 30th anniversary of Arizona’s first Pac-10 championship. I remember listening on the radio when Arizona clinched that title in 1986 at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, a fitting place to start becoming one of the conference’s premier programs.

The Wildcats have won 13 Pac-10 and Pac-12 titles since. Here is the team that took home the title in 1985-86:
