LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The July recruiting evaluation period for college coaches is coming closer to an end with this week’s AAU tournaments here at three different venues.

Arizona coach Sean Miller and members of his staff will be at various high school gyms and the Cashman Center near downtown Las Vegas between Wednesday and Sunday taking note of prospects on the way further down the road and those they want to cement with a commitment in the near future.

Most of Arizona’s Class of 2016 targets are in Las Vegas, including five-star talents small forward Josh Jackson and point guards Frank Jackson (no relation) and De’Aaron Fox.

One marquee player will not be in Las Vegas as part of the Compton (Calif.) Magic Elite team — Five-star forward T.J. Leaf, the Arizona commit who is in Austria competing for Israel’s national team in the U18 World Championships.

Another top Arizona Class of 2016 target, 6-10 and 200-pound power forward Lauri Markkanen, is back home in Finland. North Carolina and Utah are his other top two choices.
