Greenville, South Carolina: Sept. 4-7

Salpointe sophomore Haylin Harris took 17th at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Girls Championship held this past weekend in South Carolina.

Kaitlyn Papp of Austin, Texas won the championship by one stroke, totaling a 5-under-par 211. Papp was runner-up in this event in 2013.

Harris shot an 8-over 224 (75-69-80) for the tournament. Her 3-under-par 69 in the second round put her in fourth place but still five shots off the pace. Her round of 69 was the second best round of the championship.

Salpointe hosts Canyon del Oro and Sahuaro Tuesday at Randolph.
