Could Saturday’s game between Arizona and UCLA crack the top five games between the two schools (from an Arizona perspective)?

With the Bruins ranked No. 9 and Arizona No. 16 it has the makings of something special.

Arizona is 4-13-1 against UCLA teams that are ranked in the AP Top 25. The Wildcats’ last win over a ranked Bruin team was when No. 5 UCLA visited Arizona Stadium on Nov. 5, 2005 (a game that is in this ranking).

UCLA leads the series 22-15-2 after dominating the Wildcats for the most part in its three-game winning streak over Arizona over the last three years.

Before the current run by UCLA, all under coach Jim Mora, Arizona held a 6-2 advantage over the Bruins in recent meetings.

The Wildcats lost 31-26 in 2013 at Arizona Stadium, ending a four-game winning streak against the Bruins at Arizona Stadium in which they outscored them by an average of 23.8 points.

Interesting to note: Arizona is 4-1 against UCLA in their greatest games (again from an Arizona perspective) with all of the games in Tucson.
