Compiling off-the-beaten-path storylines of Arizona’s game at Colorado tomorrow while wondering if the Wildcats can beat Colorado for the fifth time in six games after losing 12 straight times to the Buffaloes.

LONGEST LOSING STREAK FOR UA AGAINST OPPONENT?

The 12-game losing streak against the Buffaloes from 1931 to 1985 is the most against any Pac-12 opponent and the second-most for Arizona overall behind the Wildcats’ 15-game skid against Texas Tech from 1937 to 1958.

Most of the damage done by the Buffaloes against Arizona was in the 1950’s. Colorado went 10-0 against the Wildcats from 1950 to 1960. The Wildcats were very unstable in the decade of the 1950’s despite having Art Luppino, the Cactus Comet, in some of those years.

Arizona had four different head coaches that decade — Robert Winslow, Warren Woodson, Ed Doherty and Jim LaRue.

Against opponents with a series of at least 10 games Arizona has a losing record against 10 opponents:

Colorado: 4-13
Hardin-Simmons: 4-6
Marquette: 4-6
Oregon: 16-25
Stanford: 14-15
USC: 8-30
Texas Tech: 4-25-2
UCLA: 15-23-2
Utah: 18-20-2
Washington: 11-19-1

The series involving Hardin-Simmons and Marquette were mostly from the 1930’s to 1960’s.
