Sometimes easy to forget about Elliott Pitts, but he's hit 2 3-pointers in nine minutes. Coaches trust him.

Sometimes it is easy to forget him inasmuch as Elliott Pitts has one start in the 62 games he has played so far in his career.
Important to note, however, that Pitts was part of Sean Miller’s first substitution group a team-high 18 times last year, so he has a vital place in the rotation.

Miller made the comment after the Red-Blue Game on Saturday that Pitts is one of Arizona’s best practice players to this point. That symbolizes the psychological end of what makes Pitts so important to this year’s team.
With an abundance of guards, Pitt’s role again will be one of making the most of any opportunity. He shares the same shooting guard position as Gabe York, Kadeem Allen, Allonzo Trier and Justin Simon.

Miller adds that Elliott Pitts has been another one of Arizona’s most consistent practice players so far

What will make Pitts invaluable to Miller this season is not only his improved defense and quality performance shooting from long range, but also his willingness to fit in harmoniously with York, Allen, Trier and Simon.
With a lot of new faces with four starters gone, Pitts is only one of three players with at least two years of experience with the Wildcats. The others are York and Kaleb Tarczewski.
Pitts must go from an unassuming young reserve trying to establish himself to being a confident leader Miller and his staff can count on in terms of chemistry.
Timely three-pointers will also help.
