The Tucson Youth Football and Spirit Federation held its City Championships on Saturday at the Kino North Stadium. Championships from 8U to 14U were held.

Still waiting for official results from the older games but AllSportsTucson.com was on hand for the 8U and the 9U championship games from earlier in the morning.

The 8U Championship game featured the Sunnyside SW Rams and the Palo Verde Scorpions. The Rams came back from a 7-0 deficit to beat the Scorpions 26-13.

Jeremy Edmonds put the Scorpions on the board first with 6-yard dash and Cameron Groves ran in the extra point to make it 7-0 but Tyrone Boney ripped off a 30-yard score to cut the lead down to 7-6.

Shamar Berryhill put the Rams up 12-7 in the second quarter on a 7-yard run but Edmonds put the Scorpions back up 13-12 thanks to a 14-yard run and that’s how the half ended.

Xavier Grajeda gave the Rams the lead for good after he took off for a 49-yard scoring run at the end of the third quarter and he added a short touchdown in the fourth for the 26-13 final. Grajeda kicked the 2-point conversion on the last score.

Edmonds led the Scorpions with 67 yards and two touchdowns and Groves added 63 yards rushing. Max Porter Trainer threw for 18 yards with Groves coming down with the 18-yard catch.

Grajeda rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns, Makoa Pina rushed for 76 and Berryhill had 16 plus a touchdown.

The Steelers led their game with the Oro Valley Dolphins from the beginning to capture the 9U City Championship 25-0.

Jaxson Banhie was the player of the game for the Steelers. Banhie finished with 227 yards rushing, four touchdowns, 15 yards passing and he had two interceptions.

He put the Steelers up 6-0 on a 34-yard run in the first quarter and he added a 30-yard run and a 50-yard dash in the second to give the Steelers a 19-0 lead at the half.

Banhie scored again in the third on a 53-yard run to end the scoring, 25-0. Isaiah Robertson added 50 yards rushing for the Steelers.

The Dolphins were led by Kayden Luke (51 yards rushing), Jacob Mustain (18) and Chase Laux (15). Mustain also had nine yards passing.
