Ironwood Ridge standout athlete Jared McKemy announced his commitment to Colorado State University-Pueblo Friday afternoon. A multi-year Southern Arizona All-Star with AllSportsTucson.com, McKemy has been a standout receiver, defensive back and returner for the Nighthawks.

“It’s surreal!” his mother Jodi Scott said. “To watch someone from the time he was two like nothing but playing with a baseball, football or golf ball brings me to tears to watch his dream to play at the next level come true! I couldn’t be more proud!”

The CSU-Pueblo Thunder Wolves finished 12-2 last year with a 9-0 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The team made it to the NCAA D-II quarterfinal round.
