Lee D. Paterson of LDP Production sent in a $150 donation. Thanks to my friend Lee, Walker Elementary School will receive 15 new pairs of kids sneakers on Monday.

Lee is THE voice for sports in the Safford area and I appreciate his dedication to youth and high school sports.

In addition, the South Tucson Lions Club donated another $90 to the cause. I will be researching am appropriate elementary school in that area for the donation.

The Kicks 4 Kids program is now well over 400 pairs of shoes.

The “Kicks 4 Kids” is program designed to collect tennis shoes so less fortunate children can participate properly in elementary school physical education programs. The South Tucson Lions Club raised almost $200 as seed money for the program and several individuals have donated money to purchase even more.

The ides is to have high school sports teams collect one pair of sneakers (Kids size 1-5) per player for less fortunate kids and we will deliver them to local PE teachers or school social workers to pass out to their students as needed.
