Continental Ranch beat Frontier 10-9 to stay alive in the Elimination Bracket of the District 5 Major Division Thursday night at Kreigh Park in Oro Valley. In the second game of the night, CDO got past Oro Valley 9-6 to advance to the Championship Bracket. Oro Valley will play Continental Ranch tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a shot at the Championship Bracket.

Continental Ranch built a 4-0 lead on Frontier by scoring two in the first inning and two more in the second. Treyson Bourguet and Shea Prahl hit doubles in the first inning and Ty North singled with one out in the second to help pace the team to two more runs.

Frontier cut the lead in half with two of their own in the bottom of the second thanks to doubles from Aiden Larson and Dylan Dreis. The team from Ft. Lowell Park took a 5-4 lead after scoring three more in the bottom of the third with Sam Cullen and Jack Perkins coming up with doubles to pace the team.

Continental Ranch took a 9-5 lead in the top of the fifth thanks to a two-run home run from Bourguet and an RBI double from Alonzo Loree but Frontier tied the game back with by scoring four in the bottom half of the inning. Ethan Bell had a two-RBI double in the comeback.

Neither team could score in the fifth but Continental Ranch took a 10-9 lead in the top of the sixth after Michael Aguirre reached on a single with one out and then moved to second on two passed balls. Will Menaugh picked up two more strikeouts but Aguirre rushed home on a dropped-third-strike to give Continental Ranch the winning run. Menaugh picked up four strikeouts in relief but he was matched by Bourguet who also came in the game in the game in the fifth inning and collected five strikeouts to hold off Frontier.

Continual Ranch improved to 3-1 and will face Oro Valley (1-1) in the final game of the Bracket “A” Elimination round Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Oro Valley beat Continental Ranch 7-6 on Tuesday.

Frontier finished 2-2. AJ Eisenman and Perkins also saw pitching action for Frontier. Cullen went 2-for-4 with a double, Perkins went 2-4 with a double and two RBI, Eisenman went 2-4 with an RBI, Larson had a double, Bell went 2-3 with a double and three RBI, Mario Burruel drew a walk and scored Dreis had an RBI double, Oscar Perez had an RBI and scored, Aiden Hartman walked and scored and Mike Hardy had a sacrifice RBI.

For Continental Ranch, Jacob Anda and Everett Bowser also pitched. Weston Rudd had a single and scored twice, Bourguet went 3-4 with a home run, double and two RBI, Blake Lehmbeck had a single and scored twice, Ben Thompson had two walks and an RBI, Aguirre went 2-3 with an RBI, Prahl went 2-4 with a double and two RBI, Bowser had an RBI, North singled and Loree had an RBI double.

CDO (2-0) will face Western (2-0) on Monday night in the opening round of the double-elimination Championship Bracket.

CDO scored one in the bottom of the first thanks to an RBI double from Andrew Stucky. The host team added four more in the bottom of the second after Josh Martinez led off with a double and Lucas Cardy knocked him in. Marcus Delgado followed with a single and Dominic Felix came up with a two-run shot one out later.

Oro Valley scored two in the top of the third after Nicholas Warren reached on a one-out single and Mason White followed with a two-run blast of his own. White held the CDO batters in check through the third and fourth innings and Oro Valley took a 6-5 lead in the top of the fifth.

Oro Valley scored two runs on passed balls and another on a wild pitch but White, Cole Clarkson and Coleman Anderson singled in the inning. Down 6-5 CDO scored four runs in the bottom half on the inning to retake the lead, 9-6.

Like Oro Valley, CDO took advantage of walks and a hit batter but Martinez came up with a three-run home run to pace the scoring and Felix came up with an RBI double for the 9-6 final.

Besides White, JJ Collins pitched for Oro Valley and Cardy and Jared Aykroyd pitched for CDO.

White went 3-4 with a 2-RBI home run to lead Oro Valley. Warren, Collin Ottley, Clarkson, Anderson and Kevin Conforti had hits in the game for Oro Valley.

Felix led CDO by going 4-4 with a double, home run and four RBI, Martinez went 2-3 with a double and a home run and Delgado went 2-2 with a double. Stucky had a double and Aykroyd singled.
