Empire senior Kayla Long committed to play for New Mexico, making her the first volleyball player from the school to play for a D-I program.

“I emailed the coaches a while ago and they invited me their summer camp in the middle of July,” Long explained.

“They offered me a position there. But I spent most of the summer touring campuses and doing volleyball camps so I was a little undecided for a while but I really love the coaching staff and the school. It has a lot of majors which will be beneficial to me because I’m not sure about what I want to study!”
