Brooks Fail sets meet record at High School Classic Swim and Dive Invitational

The 16th Annual TYR High School Classic Swim and Dive Invitational was held Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center on the University of Arizona Campus. The meet was presented by Sahuaro High School along with Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics. 36 schools and 1,000 swimmers and divers from around the state took part.

Catalina Foothills senior Brooks Fail set a new meet record in the 200 Free with a time of 1:40.78. Fail also won the 500 Free and was the anchor leg of the winning 400 Free Relay team from Catalina Foothills.

Fail won the state championship in the 500 Free last year.

Fail has been busy on the recruiting trail and he’s just getting back into competitive level.

“I missed a lot of time because of recruiting visits,” Fail explained. “I went to Indiana, South Carolina and Arizona. “I loved the South Carolina campus and of course Arizona is an historic program. I need to talk a few things over with my family but I hope to have a decision this week.”
