St. David dropped the first two sets of the 1A state championship to Mogollon on Saturday but came back to capture the schools seventh state championship and second since 2013.
In 4A action, Salpointe and Canyon del Oro came up with a couple of big upsets to advance to the semifinal round on Tuesday at Mountain Pointe.
Ironwood Ridge and Sahuaro held serve and will move on to the 5A semifinal round on Tuesday at Tempe Marcos de Niza. Sahuaro will face off against Sunnyslope. Sunnyslope is one of only two teams to beat the Cougars this year.
