Salpointe freshman standout Bijan Robinson offered by Arizona

Southern Arizona Freshman of the Year Bijan Robinson was offered a scholarship by the University of Arizona according to a tweet put out by Salpointe head coach Dennis Bene late Saturday night.

Despite playing only nine games, Robinson gained 378 yards rushing for a 9-yard average, had 233 yards receiving (19.4) and added another 156 yards on kick return duties.

Robinson is the grandson of local sports and officiating legend Cleo Robinson. His uncle, Paul Robinson, played for Arizona and was the AFL Rookie of the Year in 1968 for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Robinson is scheduled to compete for NFL Flag Tucson at the National Championships this month. Robinson was an impressive youth football player who graced our pages in Sept. of 2015 while playing for the 13U Marana Broncos.
