HOOPS: Sahuaro senior Elena Arriaga breaks 1,000 career points

Sahuaro standout Elena Arriaga scored nine points against Sunnyside on Tuesday night to give her 1,008 career points.

Pueblo standouts Alicia Reyes and Araceli Loya broke 1,000 career points earlier this year as did Walden Grove’s Conner Verdugo, Duncan’s Christopher Corona, Sunnyside’s Mikey Silva and Andrew Reyna of St. Augustine.

Leila El-Ali of Canyon del Oro and Taylor Thompson of The Gregory School broke 1,000 during the winter break.

The Gregory School standout Addison Mort broke 1,000 career points also.
