For the first time since 2007, Mike Candrea and the Arizona Wildcats can call themselves conference champions.
History is on the Wildcats’ side. The last time they won the conference title in 2007, they went on to win their last national championship as well.

The third-ranked Wildcats bounced back from two shutout losses at UCLA Friday and Saturday to win 7-2 today to clinch the Pac-12 title. It is the 11th conference title in the program’s illustrious history.
The Wildcats (48-7, 18-6) will host an NCAA Regional at Hillenbrand Stadium in two weeks. They will host a Super Regional the week after if they advance past the regional round.
Number 11 for the trophy case
Freshman Jessie Harper hit her second grand slam in as many weeks and produced an RBI double against UCLA today. She has driven in 13 of Arizona’s 21 runs the last two weeks.
Arizona ace Danielle O’Toole (27-4) got the complete-game victory allowing four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Leadoff hitter Mandie Perez went 3 for 4 with two runs. Reyna Carranco finished 2 for 3 with one run.
