Blair Charity Group putting Tucson’s kids first again with meaningful event

Former Arizona Wildcats basketball standout Joseph Blair and his Blair Charity Group are conducting a meaningful event for Tucson’s disadvantaged youth for the fifth consecutive year next week.

The “Putt-ing Kids First” Family Fun Night will be held the last night of the Arizona Basketball Academy’s summer weeklong camp, next Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Golf N’ Stuff on Tanque Verde Road in Tucson.

Tickets for the event can be purchased by clicking on this link.

More than 800 attendees are expected to take part in unlimited free play on the two 18-hole Miniature Golf courses with all-you-can-play access to all the park’s attractions such as the Lit’l Indy Race Car Go-Karts, bumper boats, lazer tag and batting cages. Unlimited play will also be available on all non-redemption video games in the arcade.

Additional activities include a live DJ, photo booth, face painters, balloon artist, silent auction, raffle, tasty food sampling, sweet treats, and the Putting Pub Beer Garden. All this and more is included with the purchase of admission.

Blair’s 17th annual basketball camp starts Monday and runs through Friday leading up to the Putt-ing Kids First event. His goal is to have at least 300 scholarships for campers this year. The aim is to allow Tucson’s youth to take part in this camp, mature and prosper for it, without their families having to pay a fee.

You can make a donation for the campers at this link.

The coaching staff for the camp includes Blair, Solomon Hill, Gabe York, Allonzo Trier, Parker Jackson-Carwright, Kadeem Allen, Dusan Ristic and Ray Smith.
