Pima Softball signs Vanezza Caldera and Alexis Ranieri

Vanezza Caldera & Alexis Ranieri (Pima)

Former Ironwood Ridge pitcher Alexis Ranieri and Tucson senior Vanezza Caldera signed their letters of intent to play for the Aztecs on Friday.

Ranieri is transferring from West Texas A&M. She won two state championships at Ironwood Ridge. Her senior year in 2016, she threw 73.1 innings going 13-1 with a 1.62 ERA and 64 strikeouts.

Caldera, an outfielder, played in all 35 games for the Badgers this season. She batted .359 with 42 hits, five home runs and 33 RBIs.
