Mountain View standout Kai Golden (6-2, 290) announced his commitment to play for the Air Force Academy on Monday afternoon. As we first reported last October, Golden was selected to compete in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, playing Defensive End. Golden helped the West win 14-8 in the game held Dec. 30 in Atlanta.

“It means a lot! Being a retired Marine, Kai has got a chance to travel the world and see me support and defend our country,” his father Kenny Golden said.

“Now it’s his time! He will get a great education, play football at a high level and support and defend our great country as well.”

Golden was an easy All-Southern Arizona First Team selection from his DT position.
