WORLD CUP OF SOFTBALL: Brianna Aguilar Beaucage & Kelsey Jenkins help lead Canada to 3rd place

July 5-9: Oklahoma City

Former Sabino standout Kelsey Jenkins (Wisconsin) and former Salpointe standout Brianna Aguilar-Beaucage (Grand Canyon) helped lead Softball Canada to a third place finish at the World Cup of Softball XII held this past week in Oklahoma City.

Jenkins went 6-for-18 (.333) with a home run and four RBI while Aguilar-Beaucage went 1-0 from the circle with the win coming against Mexico.

Former Buena pitcher Erika Bennett threw six innings for Mexico and picked up five strikeouts. Bennett went on to play for Miami Dade where she led her team to a national championship in 2010 before moving on to pitch for Marshall. Bennett was recently named an assistant coach at UTEP.

ALSO: Ironwood Ridge sophomore Diana Nisbett is playing for the GB Cadette (Under-16) Girls’ Fastpitch Team that will take on 11 other countries at the 2017 European Cadette Championship held in Ostrava, Czech Republic from July 10-15.
