VOLLEYBALL: St. Augustine & Flowing Wells results

St. Augustine went undefeated (5-0) to capture the championship of the Wolfpack Invitational held Friday and Saturday. The host team beat The Gregory School 2-1 in the semifinal round and Palo Verde 2-0 in the championship match held Saturday afternoon.

The Wolfpack improved to 8-1 on the year with the loss coming against defending 1A Conference state champion St. David a few days prior to the invitational. Palo Verde moved to 10-5 on the year.

Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the state’s top high school reporter in 2014 and he was awarded the Ray McNally Award in 2017 and he has been a youth, high school and college coach for over 30 years. His own children have won multiple state high school championships and were named to all-state teams.
