The Lute Olson Fantasy Camp ended on Sunday with championship games and team photos with Lute and Kelly Olson. Many of his former players served as coaches during the weekend including Corey Williams, Joe Turner, Pete Williams, Ben Davis, Craig McMillan, Eugene Edgerson, Matt Brase, Reggie Geary, Harvey Mason, Joseph Blair, Matt Muehlebach, Jason Terry, Kenny Lofton and Mike Bibby.
University of Arizona women’s basketball assistant coordinator, Briana Felix, oversaw much of the action and men’s assistant Lorenzo Romar welcomed the campers on Thursday night at the Meet & Greet reception held at the BIRD Modern Provisions & Bar on North Oracle.
Almost all of Olson’s former players reminded the campers what Lute said when he was hired to coach Arizona, “Get your tickets now because you won’t be able to get them next year.”
Lute repeated much the same when he addressed the campers this year after his inaugural Fantasy Camp:
“I know all of my players will come back next year,” Olson said. “I hope to double the number of campers next year.”
