Southern Arizona represented by 15 teams in Class 2A through 5A football playoffs




The Arizona high school football playoffs start Friday with 14 teams representing Southern Arizona from Class 2A to 6A.

Some of the Tucson-area teams that did not make into the playoffs despite having a .500 record or better include Buena (6-4) and Poston Butte (6-4) in Class 5A, Catalina (5-5) in Class 3A and San Manuel (6-4) in Class 2A.

Here is a rundown with brackets of every classification:

CLASS 2A BRACKET

Southern Arizona teams involved (bold):
No. 14 Willcox (5-5) at No. 3 Thatcher (7-1), Friday, 6 p.m.
No. 15 Bisbee (5-5) at No. 2 Phoenix Christian (10-0), Saturday, 6 p.m.
No. 13 Pima (5-5) at No. 4 Santa Cruz (9-0), 6 p.m.


CLASS 3A BRACKET

Southern Arizona teams involved (bold):
No. 16 Wickenburg (6-4) at No. 1 Pusch Ridge (10-0), Saturday, 6 p.m.
No. 12 Fountain Hills (6-4) at No. 5 Sabino (8-2), Saturday, 6 p.m.
