If there has been one weak link on the Arizona offense this year it is the wide receiver spot. The Wildcats have not only had a mixed bag in terms of production, but many of their top receivers will graduate. The Wildcats got some good news about a player who was already committed.
Las Vegas/Desert Pines WR Jaden Mitchell committed back in April, but announced on Monday that he will sign with Arizona on December 20 and enroll in the spring. Mitchell will be eligible for spring practice.
Mitchell is a 247Composite 3-star prospect and is rated as the No. 193 receiver in the nation. The 5-10, 205 pounder injured his knee in the season’s first game. As a junior he had a team-best 18 receptions for 262 yards and two touchdowns and added 283 yards and two scores on 66 rushing attempts. He also played some quarterback as a junior.
This season six wide receivers have caught passes for the Wildcats and three of those will not return next season. Only Shun Brown, Tony Ellison and Cedric Peterson return.
