Cats land transfer punter

Arizona’s punting issues were well documented last year, but the team may have found a solution. Cal graduate transfer Dylan Klumph announced he would play his final season at Arizona.

• Has a 44.2 career punt average that is on top of Cal’s all-time list with 76 punts for 3358 yards and a long of 64 yards, three touchbacks, 16 fair catches, 22 punts that have pinned opponents inside their 20 yard line and 22 punts of 50 or more yards
• Put up single-season career bests as a 2016 sophomore with 50 punts, 2240 punt yards, 18 punts that pinned opponents inside their 20 yard-line and 15 punts of 50 or more yards, as well as a career-long punt of 64
• Has forced opponents into a single-season career-high nine fair catches in the first six games of his 2017 junior campaign
• Named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for his performance against Washington as a sophomore when he averaged a career-high 49.7 yards per punt on a career-high-tying seven punts with a single-game career high three punts of 50 or more yards while pinning the Huskies inside their 20-yard line a single-game career-high four times
• Also equaled a single-game career-high-tying seven punts at Oregon during his junior campaign
