SOCCER PLAYOFFS: Sabino boys end successful season; Salpointe girls playing for 6th title

No. 12 Sabino lost to top-seeded AZ College Prep 4-2 in the 3A boy’s semifinal Friday night, ending a remarkable season by the Sabercats. The Sabercats went undefeated (6-0-1) to capture the Region 7 championship and the automatic playoff berth that comes with it.

The team went on the road to defeat No. 5 American Leadership 5-0 in the first round and then No. 4 Safford (4-0) in the quarterfinals.

No. 2 Salpointe will face No. 1 Flagstaff at 11:30 a.m. for the girl’s 4A state championship. The match will be streamed live at AZPreps365.com.
