Little League All-Stars Day 4 roundup: 2 championships could be decided tonight

The District 5 Little League All-Star playoffs continued on Thursday night with 10 games played at Kriegh Park, Arthur Pack and Mehl Park. District 12 has joined the fun at Mission Manor and the various divisional playoffs will take up most of the summer with state and regional action thrown in the mix.

District 5 will host the West Region Junior Girls Softball Tournament from July 14-19 and District 12 will host the 8-10 State Baseball Tournament from July 12-25.

Tucson Mountain beat Thornydale 14-9 Thursday night at Arthur Pack to force a second championship game in the 8-10 Softball division. Tucson Mountain (3-1) and Thornydale (2-1) will face off in a winner-take-all game set for 6:30 p.m. Friday night at Arthur Pack. The winner of the District 5 8-10 Softball tournament will advance to the State Tournament scheduled for Avondale staring on July 21.

Marana beat Thornydale in 9-11 Softball action Thursday night which means Marana could win the division title tonight in the best of three series. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Arthur Pack. The winner of the District 5 9-11 Softball tournament will advance to the State Tournament scheduled for Avondale staring on July 13.
