Williams offers TSPL for Kids competitors thrill of player of game interviews

Imagine being a kid about 11 years old and getting interviewed as a player of the game by a former Arizona hoops player who is now a college basketball broadcaster at ESPN.

That is the case with Corey Williams and participants at the Tucson Summer Pro League for Kids, at least yesterday, following each of the five games at The Gregory School.

Another five games are scheduled today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. leading up to the championship game July 21.

Williams created TSPL in 2004 and does a lot of hands-on work with the tournament to this day, even serving as a the PA announcer during games.

His work is genuine benefiting Tucson’s youth by giving them basketball as an outlet with this event.
