Three from Tucson make NTIS 14U Southwest Region Team

Three baseball standouts from Tucson were selected this week to the United States National Team Identification Series Southwest Region Team.

They are Flowing Wells freshman shortstop/pitcher/utility player Javier Escalante (who plays for ATP), Tucson Champs 14U third baseman Ruben Villaescusa (of Tucson High School) and catcher/outfielder Nick Warren, also of Tucson Champs, who attends Ironwood Ridge High School.

The regional team will compete in their respective age group against the 15 other regions from across the country at the culminating NTIS Champions Cup event at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., on Aug. 22-26.
