It’s been a long journey for former Tucson standout Ricky Martinez but the Badger found a new home playing baseball for Paradise Valley CC. Martinez started out at Gateway but an injury forced a medical redshirt and he transferred to Luna CC last spring. The Family announced his commitment to play for Paradise Valley this past week.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Ricky’s determination and hard work on and off the field. It’s definitely paying off,” his mother Suzette Gonzalez said.

Martinez batted .361 with 28 RBI, four doubles, a triple and two home runs in 2016 and the former Badger batted .362 for the Cochise Stars, ranking him seventh in the Sun Belt College League this summer.
