Arizona fell to Arizona State in a game that left a sour taste in most Wildcat fans’ mouths. However, the Wildcats received at least three and possibly four verbal commitments over the weekend.
The commits help bolster Arizona on both the offensive and defensive lines.
During the game, Belgian defensive end Sylvain Yondjouen announced his commitment to the Wildcats. Although he comes from a country more known for their Soccer players than their football players, but Yondjouen is rated as the No. 373 recruit in the 2019 recruiting class and the No. 24 defensive end. The 3-star recruit is among the highest rated in the Wildcats’ class.
The Wildcats added two JUCO linemen on Sunday.
Offensive lineman Josh Donovan pledged to the Wildcats after visiting over the weekend. Donovan is a 6-5, 330 pounder and will have a chance to play right away for the Wildcats.
Also visiting and committing over the weekend was JUCO defensive lineman Trevon Mason. Mason is listed on the Navarro College website as being 6-6, 280, but lists himself as 6-7, 300. Like Donovan, Mason should have a chance to play right away.
If social media reactions by Arizona coaches were any indication, then it appears as if Arizona may have landed a third commitment on Sunday, but his identity was not known at the time this article was posted.
The Wildcats got some good news from an already committed player. Arizona coaches visited Marana OL Jordan Morgan on Sunday night and Morgan reiterated his plan to sign with Arizona next month and told them he was shutting down his recruiting.
