Sahuarita and Palo Verde moved to 2-0 at the Palo Verde Girls Soccer Invitational heading into the final day of pool play on Friday.

Palo Verde took a 1-0 lead on Tanque Verde after Angel Alba drove down from midfield in the 31st minute but Caitlin Randolph tied things up in the 76th to send the match to PKs where the Titans came out on top 5-3.

America Guerrero scored on the right side to put Palo Verde up 1-0 but Briannah Gerhart came up with the equalizer on a shot to the left. Maria Falcon shot to the right to put Palo Verde back up 2-1 but Randolph hit the left to make it 2-2. Sam Doyle made it 3-2 Palo Verde and the Titans held that lead after a miss by the Hawks.

Audrey Smith put Palo Verde up 4-2 and Jillian Fisher made it 4-3 but Arlene Gallardo came through with the winning goal for the Titans.

The Titans are ranked No.11 in the 4A Conference based on the initial AZPreps365 Rankings released Thursday morning and the Hawks are No. 22 in the 3A Conference. Former Plao Verde standout Jasmine Stokes is coaching Tanque Verde.

In the second game Sahuarita scored all five of their goals in a 10-minute span to defeat Casa Grande 5-0. Kambria Cash scored in the 28th minute, Litycia Espinoza made it 2-0 in the 29th and Espinoza scored again to make it 3-0 in the 31st. Cash made it 4-0 in the 32nd and Harley Murphy came up with the final score in the 38th minute.

Sahuarita is ranked No. 9 in the 3A Conference and Casa Grande is 26th in the 4A Conference.

In the third match of the day, Douglas held of Cholla 2-0 with both goals coming from junior standout Venezia Galindo.

Douglas is No. 18 in the 4A Conference and Cholla is No. 35 in the 5A Conference.

In the final match, Sabino blanked Flowing Wells 5-0. Allison Oberdank scored in the 4th minute, an own goal made it 2-0 three minutes later and Riley Bravin made it 3-0 in the 21st minute. Kaitlyn Bassett extended the Sabercat lead to 4-0 in the 50th and Lexi Bishop made it 5-0 in the 71st.

Sabino is No. 8 in the 3A Conference and Flowing Wells is No. 37 in the 5A Conference.
