Cholla High School product Abram Carrasco scored 34 points and Kennedy Koehler added a double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) to lead No. 12 Pima to a 94-75 rout of visiting Central Arizona on Saturday.
Carrasco also had six rebounds for the Aztecs, a Division II team that is 18-5 overall and 11-4 in the ACCAC. They trail first-place Cochise, a Division I team that is 12-2 in league play and is 18-4 overall.
Rashad Smith added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Aztecs against Central Arizona (7-16, 5-10).
The Aztecs face a tough test at No. 15 Scottsdale (17-6, 9-6) on Wednesday.
Pima has won 13 of its last 15 games after starting the season 4-3 while playing a tough schedule that included Cochise, Arizona Western and Division I power Odessa (Texas).
