A break from today’s news of what’s going on in Washington, D.C., to bring you a proclamation letter of sorts from U.S. Representative Raul Grijalva, whose district includes Tucson and Southern Arizona.
Grijalva issued a letter — with his Congressional letterhead — today to the Sunnyside Little League team challenging for a spot in the Little League World Series. Sunnyside plays Northern California tonight at 6 on ESPN for the chance to advance to tomorrow night’s regional championship game against Hawaii.
“This is an incredible accomplishment, and I cannot think of any better representatives of the tenacity and passion of Tucson than this team,” Grijalva writes in the letter. “Even though you are far from home, your friends, family, and the Tucson community will be cheering you from afar.”
