Former Salpointe beach volleyball standout Alexandra Parkhurst earned All-American status by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday. Parkhurst and former Xavier Prep standout Trinity Cavanaugh earned Second Team All-America recognition by the AVCA.

Parkhurst, along with current Salpointe senior Abby Russell, captured the AIA Division II Pairs Championship last year while Cavanaugh helped Xavier Prep win the seventh team championship in program history.

Parkhurst and Cavanaugh were the only athletes from Arizona selected by the AVCA. Parkhurst is a freshman for the University of Arizona and Cavanaugh plays for TCU.
