The Pima women’s cross country team tied for 4th place, with Glendale Community College, at the ACCAC Championships held in Mesa on Saturday with a total of 120 points. The men’s team placed fifth with 129 points.
Sophomore Iriana Sanchez (Cienega) earned All-ACCAC Honorable Mention after she took 21st place in the 5K race (3.1 miles) with a time of 21 minutes, 27.2 seconds.
Sophomore Rainbow Hoss (Mountain View) finished 24th with a time of 21:41.4 while freshman Janae Quihuis (Nogales) placed 25th at 21:48.7. Freshman Carolina Vega-Picos (Desert View) was 31st with a time of 24:52.5 and freshman Alysa Canez (Canyon del Oro) took 34th place at 26:25.0.
For the men, sophomore Juan Miranda (Flowing Wells) took 24th place in the 8K race (4.97 miles) with a time of 28:46.8.
Sophomore Aaron Espinoza (Sunnyside) finished in 26th place with a time of 28:56.7, while freshman Alex Corrales (Nogales) placed 27th at 29:03.6.
Former Marana runner Kyle Partin took sixth place for Central Arizona with a time of 26:32.6, earning All-ACCAC honors.
