Bijan Robinson (Andy Morales/AllSportsTucson.com)

— RB Bijan Robinson rushed for 133 yards on nine carries with four TDs. He also had three catches for 62 yards and a TD. Robinson’s rushing yards — all in the first half because he sat after Salpointe built a 51-7 halftime lead — gives him 5,927 in his career. That broke the Arizona big-school (Class 4A-6A) record of 5,878 set by former Tolleson standout Marcus Thomas from 1999-2002.

— Robinson is at 1,126 yards rushing this season on only 48 carries (average of 23.5 yards per carry). He is on pace to become the first running back in the state to have three 2,000-yard seasons in his career. Former Saguaro and current Arizona Cardinals standout Christian Kirk — who played for Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin at Texas A&M — graduated in 2014 with a big-school state-record 103 career touchdowns. Robinson, with 96, is only seven touchdowns from that state record. Robinson also broke the 4A-6A career rushes for a touchdown FridY night with 86, passing CDO legend Ka’Deem Carey (82) and former Peoria standout Jamal Miles (83).
