Last time out Arizona found it’s offense unable to put the ball in the back of the net against Utah ending in a 0-0 draw. With the draw Arizona needed a win versus conference foe Oregon who hasn’t won a single PAC-12 game this season going (0-4-2) leading into the game against Arizona.
Through the first 55 minutes the game was at back and forth with both teams trading goals. Arizona then turned up the heat on the Ducks with the dynamic connection of Jada Talley and Jill Aguilera to score the go-head goal to put Arizona up 3-2. After that Arizona added two more goal from Iliana Hockings and one last goal from Talley to put the game away winning 5-2.
One key to the game was the ability to pass, Arizona scored 4 times on assists. Everyone was getting involved on offense putting pressure on the Oregon defense all game long. Arizona out shot Oregon 25-7 and had 7 corner kicks to Oregon’s 1.
After the game coach Tony Amato talked about the offensive ball movement and the game plan going into the match. Plus, how freshman Hope Hisey has even surprised even the coaching staff in some areas.
