Audrey Jimenez of Sunnyside Wrestling Club Wins Arizona Junior High/Middle School State Title


Audrey Jimenez continues to dominate her competition achieving an Arizona Junior High and Middle School State title tonight at Tempe High School in the 88-pound class.

The eighth grader, who wrestles with the Sunnyside Wrestling Club, went 5-0 with a win by fall and four decisions, including a 7-0 score in the title match against Aidan Belloc of Eloy Blue Devils Wrestling.

Her complete results:

Opening round: Jimenez defeated Chris Kearns of Tuba City (fall 0:35)

Second round: Jimenez defeated Adam Lloyd of Prescott (decision 2-0)

Quarterfinals: Jimenez defeated Kody Gluyas of Safford (major decision 9-0)

Semifinals: Jimenez defeated Karlee Brooks of Chandler (decision 5-2)

Championship: Jimenez defeated Aidan Belloc of Eloy (decision 7-0)

Jimenez also placed first in the 2020 Mile High Middle School state championships at Prescott Valley two weeks ago.

Junior High – 142 1st Place Match Oren Allsup (Willcox A-Team) won by major decision over Brendon Bazzani (Desert Ridge) (Maj 14-0)
