Last season, Arizona softball was able to end their nine-year drought of not making the Women’s College World Series. The team would end their run against Alabama, coming up short in a close 2-0 game, finishing with a record of (48-14).
This season the expectations are even higher, with the core of the team returning, plus the addition of former Oklahoma pitcher Mariah Lopez. The addition of Lopez is no small thing; she was able to post a (51-2) record during her time in Norman.
Arizona will open its season on the road in the Kajikawa Classic (PHX) against the Kansas Jayhawks. Here are all the interviews from the first media availability of the season, which is just 15-days away.
