Postgame Recap: Arizona 59 ASU 53

With both Arizona and Arizona State ranked in the AP Top 25, it marked the first time in the rivalry’s history that they would face each other while ranked. So, as you could expect, this was a highly anticipated matchup, that was taken to new heights when coach Adia Barnes asked for 10,000 fans to attend the game.

Arizona found themselves in a defensive battle from the start, as both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net. One thing was constant for Arizona, and that was star player Aari McDonald who dropped 24 points and hauled in 11 rebounds along the way.

This wasn’t the cleanest of games for Arizona as they struggled from the field and turned over the ball more than usual. However, there were surprises along the way, and players that stepped up in crucial situations, when they needed a lift.

Here is the postgame reaction from players and coach Barnes, who was amazed by the 10,160 fans that attended the game. Plus, a postgame wrap-up from Troy Hutchison and Javier Morales, breaking down Arizona’s 59-53 win over ASU.
