12 Basketball/Soccer Regions Up For Grabs Tuesday Night

12 regions can be won on Tuesday night in basketball and soccer competitions. Remember, region champions at the 5A and 6A level do not earn an automatic playoff berth.

BOYS BASKETBALL

No. 5 Buena (13-2, 7-0) can win the 5A Southern Region with a win over No. 29 Marana (6-9, 1-6).

No. 10 St. Augustine (12-3, 9-3) plays No. 12 Miami (12-4, 9-3) at home. Miami can win the 2A South Region with a win, although the top two teams earn an automatic playoff berth.

No. 5 Gregory School (14-4, 8-0) won the regular season 1A South championship on Jan. 30.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

No. 6 Buena (13-2, 7-0) can claim the 5A Southern Region with a win over No. 26 Marana (6-9, 1-6).

No. 18 Palo Verde (11-4, 7-0) can win the 4A Gila Region with a win over No. 17 Rio Rico (11-4, 6-1).

No. 3 Sahuaro (14-1, 7-0) can win the 4A Kino Region with a win over No. 44 Vista Grande (1-15, 1-7).

No. 2 Bisbee (14-1, 10-1) can win a share of the 2A East Region with a win over No. 33 Willcox (1-13, 0-10).

No. 1 St. David (16-1, 9-0) can win the regular season title of the 1A South Region with a win over No. 9 Valley Union (13-4, 7-2).

BOYS SOCCER

No. 2 Sunnyside (10-0, 3-0) can win the 5A Southern Region with a win over No. 13 Buena (6-4, 3-1).

No. 16 Mountain View (6-4, 3-0) can win the 5A Sonoran Region with a win over No. 42 Empire (0-9, 0-3).

No. 1 Douglas (10-0, 4-0) won the 4A Gila Region on Jan. 30.

No. 2 Salpointe (8-1, 3-0) can win the 4A Kino Region with a win over No. 17 Catalina Foothills (7-3, 3-0).

No. 12 Sahuarita (9-2, 5-1) won the 3A South Region on Jan. 28.

GIRLS SOCCER

No. 9 Mountain View (6-4, 3-0) can win the 5A Sonoran Region with a win over No. 36 Empire (2-8, 0-3).

No. 8 Walden Grove (6-2-2, 3-) can win the 4A Gila Region with a win over No. 41 Amphitheater (3-8, 0-4).

No. 8 Sahuarita (10-1-1, 5-1) won the 3A South Region on Jan. 28.
