Oklahoma Transfer Mariah Lopez on Joining Arizona Wildcats: “Amazing Experience”


Through her first two games in the circle for Arizona, senior Mariah Lopez, who made headlines during the offseason transferring from softball power Oklahoma, is performing to expectations.

She is 2-0 with wins yesterday over Kansas as a starter and Seattle as a reliever in the Kajikawa Classic at ASU in Tempe.

Lopez pitched a complete-game effort (five innings in a run-rule win) against former Big 12 foe Kansas before entering to pitch the final 2 2/3 innings against Seattle. She held Seattle scoreless while striking out five.

Combined in the two games, Lopez pitched 11 2/3 innings. allowing five hits with only one run while striking out 11 with three walks.
