Basketball Playoffs: Sahuaro girls to play for 4A state championship; Alyssa Brown scores 29

Alyssa Brown scored 29 points to help lead No. 3 Sahuaro past No. 2 Shadow Mountain 64-59 Wednesday night at Shadow Mountain. The Cougars will face No. 1 Seton Catholic Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Phoenix.

Brown is only nine points away from passing former Santa Rita standout Paula Pyers on the career scoring list for Southern Arizona and she’s No. 27 on the Arizona list.
